Getting to the Museum

  • By train: take the RER train to Grande Arche de la Défense on Line A then take bus 258 and get off at "Le Château [The Castle]"
  • By road: take the RN13 from Paris (distance 12 km)

Opening hours

Malmaison Museum is open every day except Tuesdays, December 25 and January 1

(last entrance 45 minutes before museum closing time)

From October 1 to March 31
Monday to Friday : from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Weekends : from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. 

From April 1 to September 30 
Monday to Friday : from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. 
Weekends : from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from1:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Price

Full price: 6 €, reduced price: 4.50 € for large families (on production of valid proof of entitlement) with a supplement of 2 € during temporary exhibition periods.

For groups (10 persons minimum) : 5€ per person, or 7€ during temporary exhibition periods.

The entrance to the Château de Malmaison is included in the Paris Museum Pass

Free admission for :

- Friends of Malmaison
- visitors under the age of 18
- 18-25 year-old residents of the EU
- unemployed individuals and visitors receiving benefits (proof of entitlement must be dated within the last six months)
- disabled visitors and their guest or helper


Free admission for all visitors on the first sunday of each month


 

 The Rueil tourist train operates from April to October (except on Tuesdays). It is free of charge and takes in all the places of interest in Rueil, including Malmaison Castle, Bois-Préau Park and the church containing the tombs of Empress Joséphine and Queen Hortense.

The train leaves from Place de l’Europe (near the RER train station) once an hour on the hour from 10 a.m. onwards. Information about the train is available from the Tourist Office: +33 1 47 32 35 75.
